Benefits Of Gunite Pools
Gunite is the type of sprayed concrete we use when building your pool. This combination of sand, dry concrete mix, and water is sprayed over a cage of steel bars to form the solid shell of a pool. This shell will later be covered and water-proofed by a plaster seal finishing layer.
There are two main benefits of using gunite instead of regular cement.
Firstly, it is more cost-effective.
Secondly, it allows for more creative freedom in the design process. Gunite can be manipulated to take on any desired shape. Flowing curves, sharp lines, and any combination of the two are most easily achieved using this sprayed concrete.
Some contractors prefer to use an alternative sprayed concrete called shotcrete. We prefer to use gunite for two simple reasons. First, gunite is only a combination of sand, concrete, and water – no gravel or additional accelerators are added. Second and most importantly, the addition of water is easier to control. This guarantees the best possible results for your watery oasis.
